PRECISE AND THOUGHTFUL TECHNIQUE

Joey and Yuko help dancers build their technique on the foundation of a clean and efficient alignment that will allow the body to move with clarity. We must build our support from the inside out to allow for the most efficient freedom of movement that will minimize injury and maximize expressivity.

Joey Levinson

Joseph Levinson

Joseph Levinson began his ballet training at the age of 10. His early training was at the San Francisco Dance Theater with Jody White and Penelope Lagios Johnson. The unique training included not just Classical dance but also acting, art, mime, modern dance, jazz, flamenco and an understanding of ballet as being a part of the larger world of Theater as a form of Human expression.

Yuko Katsumi

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yuko Katsumi began her ballet training in Berlin, West Germany. She continued training in Japan and Zimbabwe where she received Honors in the Advanced Cecchetti Examination, after which she went to London and graduated from the Royal Ballet School.

Philosophy

Yuko and Joseph believe in building an artistic dancer on the foundation of a clean and methodically built technique. Technique is like vocabulary, the more words we know the more ways we can express ourselves in subtle and meaningful ways. But first and foremost is that we must have something meaningful and unique to say.
